Daikon greens are not only edible, they are delicious, and an excellent source of Vitamin A.
Ingredients
greens from one daikon
ground or minced meat, 1/2 lb.
soy sauce, 4 tbsp
sugar, 2 tbsp
mirin, 2 tbsp
sesame oil, 1/2 tbsp
sesame seeds, 2 tbsp (to taste)
oyster sauce, 1 tsp (to taste)
(An additional 1 tbsp of sugar can be substituted for the mirin)
Directions
(1) Wash the greens well, remove any bad (yellowed) leaves, and chop into 1/4~1/2 inch pieces.
(2) Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan, add the greens, then add the minced meat and saute well.
(3) Add mirin, sugar, soy sauce and saute.
Add sesame seeds and oyster sauce, and it’s ready to eat!
Best served on a generous portion of steamed white or brown rice.
